Rob Breakenridge Interviews Ezra Levant – del 1 (del 2 her)

“It’s hate speech!” yelled one man. “It’s free speech!” yelled another.

In the United States, that debate has been settled. Under the First Amendment, newspapers and magazines can say what they like about minority groups and religions – even false, provocative or hateful things – without legal consequence. The Maclean’s article, “The Future Belongs to Islam,(2006)” was an excerpt from a book by Mark Steyn called “America Alone.” The title was fitting: The United States, in its treatment of hate speech, as in so many areas of the law, takes a distinctive legal path.

IHT: Hate speech or free speech? What much of West bans is protected in U.S.

(Mark Steyn – America Alone – 2006 pdf – hele bogen kan downloades her)

New York Times smæder Mark Steyn ved associationstrick, smæder ytringsfriheden

[…] “But in the United States,” Professor Schauer continued, “all such speech remains constitutionally protected.”

Canada, England, France, Germany, the Netherlands, South Africa, Australia and India all have laws or have signed international conventions banning hate speech. Israel and France forbid the sale of Nazi items like swastikas and flags. It is a crime to deny the Holocaust in Canada, Germany and France.

These are all foolish laws, including the Holocaust denial laws. The Holocaust happened, but laws restricting speech, even speech like this, set a dangerous precedent. The problem is that “hate speech” is in the eye of the beholder, and such laws become weapons in the hands of those who wield political power, or who are jockeying for that power — weapons to silence their opponents. The Times will never tell you, of course, that there is a worldwide and ongoing movement by Islamic jihadists and their allies and dupes to classify all critical examination of Islamic supremacism as “hate speech.” And who will be the chief beneficiary if they succeed? Why, the Islamic supremacists, and only the Islamic supremacists. We will be mute and hence defenseless in the face of the jihadist onslaught — as the State Department and DHS are well on the way to rendering us already.

Via Jihad Watch:

Textbooks at a private Islamic school in northern Virginia teach students that it is permissible for Muslims to kill adulterers and converts from Islam, according to a federal investigation released Wednesday. Other passages in the school’s textbooks state that “the Jews conspired against Islam and its people” and that Muslims are permitted to take the lives and property of those deemed “polytheists.”

Here is a hadith from Bukhari (the hadith collection Muslims consider most reliable) in which the Jews conspire to murder Muhammad. There are plenty more where that one came from. Here is a hadith from Bukhari in which Muhammad says that the lives and property of unbelievers are safe from him as long as they convert to Islam — implying that if they don’t, their lives and property are fair game.

The passages were found in selected textbooks used during the 2007-08 school year by the Islamic Saudi Academy, which teaches 900 students in grades K-12 at two campuses in Alexandria and Fairfax and receives much of its funding from the Saudi government. The academy has come under scrutiny from critics who allege that it fosters an intolerant brand of Islam similar to that taught in the conservative Saudi kingdom.

Shock horror! Mainstream Islamic teaching taught at Virginia Islamic school: adulterers and apostates should be killed

LGF has an astonishing story about voter fraud in Louisiana. Now, voter fraud in Louisiana may not seem to be astonishing at all, and about as common as gators or crawdads, but this story has a twist: the perpetrator is the Muslim American Society — that is, the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States. The MAS, you see, runs the VIP organization that is criticized in the report below.

Remember that Muslim Brotherhood memorandum? The one outlining its strategy for the United States? The members of the Brotherhood, it said, “must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and Allah’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

This looks like a nice little piece of sabotage right here.

“State probes voter registration drive,” by Marsha Shuler for Advocate Capitol News Bureau, June 11:

Secretary of State Jay Dardenne said Tuesday he will meet today with a Democrat-affiliated group responsible for a voter registration effort that is inundating East Baton Rouge and other parish registrars with bogus and incomplete applications.

Dardenne said his investigators are trying to determine if any state election laws have been violated as thousands of voter registration cards have been dumped on registrars offices through the efforts of VIP.

“We have some very real concerns about the data we are getting from them,” Dardenne said.

VIP is a Washington, D.C., group hired by national Democrats to register some 70,000 new voters in advance of the presidential and other federal elections this fall….

Dardenne said cards are being submitted for people already on the voter rolls and “a significant percentage are being submitted without necessary information to register someone and “blatantly false information.”

Two cards received in Caddo Parish had George W. Bush as the voter applicant with a 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. address in Shreveport, Dardenne said. Other cards have been filed for prisoners who cannot vote and dead people. In Jefferson Parish, a voter registration card was filed for the registrar of voters….
